MEF is pleased to host MEF17 at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort in Orlando, Florida USA on 13-16, November
With a target audience of 1,000+ attendees from 275+ companies and 35+ countries, MEF17 is the world’s premier networking opportunity for executives and other service and technology professionals committed to reshaping the communications landscape.
MEF17 is focused on Third Network connectivity and cloud services for the digital economy & the hyper-connected world. Agile, assured, and orchestrated, these emerging services provide an on-demand experience with user-directed control over service capabilities and cloud connectivity. Third Network services are delivered over automated, virtualized, and interconnected networks powered by LSO (Lifecycle Service Orchestration), SDN (software defined networking), NFV (network functions virtualization), and CE 2.0 (Carrier Ethernet 2.0).
Key Attendee Benefits
MEF17 has developed a reputation for uniquely empowering industry stakeholders with high-quality content, extraordinary peer-to-peer networking opportunities, and live demonstrations of cutting-edge services & technologies. The events consistently have ranked among the highest in the industry, with 99% of surveyed attendees rating last year’s MEF16 conference as excellent, very good, or good.
Program & Activities
MEF17's Program and special activities are designed to appeal to executives and other senior experts from communication and cloud service providers; enterprises; government organizations; network technology suppliers; industry standards and open source organizations; analyst firms; the press; and others.
MEF17 will build upon MEF's Third Network Vision, which has been successfully embraced by leading service providers, technology vendors, open source projects, and standards organizations who are collaborating to accelerate the industry transition. MEF17 topics include:
- Third Network Service Migration. MEF17 will provide service providers practical strategies and general roadmaps for migrating from static connectivity services to new orchestrated Layer 1-3 connectivity (e.g., wavelengths, CE 2.0, and IP) and orchestrated Layer 4-7 cloud services (e.g., NFV-based virtual security, etc.). The conference will offer compelling content for service providers regardless of their size or the current state of their service portfolios.
- LSO & Open API Development. There is broad industry support for standardized, open APIs to orchestrate services across multiple provider networks in addition to multiple technology domains (packet WAN, optical transport, SD-WAN, etc.) within a single provider network. MEF16 attendees ranked LSO development and deployment as the No. 1 topic of interest for 2017, so we will devote considerable program content to all aspects of LSO, including how orchestration solutions work hand-in-hand with SDN and NFV.
- Open Initiatives & Industry Collaboration. Third Network services development requires extensive collaboration of industry standards organizations, open source projects, and service and technology companies due to the complexities involved. - New Certification Programs. Highly successful in helping create the $80 billion CE market, MEF’s certification programs for services, equipment, and professionals are now evolving to accelerate the shift to the Third Network. MEF is transitioning to an “orchestrated services” certification program and aligning equipment and professional certification programs with that as well. Stay tuned for certification news in 1H 2017.
